FUNDAMENTAL QUANTITY--

Those quantities which cnnot be derived from other quantities are called fundamental quantities. Eg. Mass, length and time. A base unit (also referred to as a fundamental unit) is a unit adopted for measurement of a base quantity

Physical quantity-- भौतिक राशि वस्तुतः कोई भौतिक गुण है जिसे मापा जा सकता है अर्थात कोई आंकिक मान दिया जा सकता है। अन्तरराष्ट्रीय मापन शब्दावली की परिभाषा के अनुसार- भौतिक राशि किसी वस्तु, पदार्थ या परिघटना का गुण है तथा इस गुण को संख्यात्मक मान एवं कोई मानक सन्दर्भ प्रदान किया जा सकता है।
